Don’t know why
You did what you did
All your pain
Is nothing to this
Left us hopeless
Lost in a mist
One more moment
And I’d tell you this …
Don’t despair your life is worth living
Wait and see what the morning brings
Now there’s a hole
Where you used to fit
Maybe you didn’t think
That you did
Lost and lonely
That’s what it is
One more moment
And I’d still tell you this …
Don’t despair your life is worth living
Wait and see what the morning brings
Don’t despair your life is worth living
Wait and see what the morning brings
Now you’re gone
Our lives aren’t the same
And we’re left here
To carry this pain
Don’t know who
But someone’s to blame
One more moment
Can you hear your name…
Don’t despair your life is worth living
Wait and see what the morning brings
Don’t despair your life is worth living
Wait and see what the morning brings
“Don’t know why you did what you did?
All your pain is nothing to this…”
Every year thousands of young people, unable to cope with life’s difficulties, take their own lives. Even higher rates of LGBT youth, often the targets of bullying both at school and online, take this drastic step. It can be difficult to keep a positive perspective on life; low self-esteem and a sense of worthlessness can seem overwhelming and create a feeling of isolation and hopelessness.
Such a tragic, heartbreaking loss can be devastating to those left behind. If only there was one more moment to be able to reach out, to let them know that things will get better; you can have a life, you are worth something, don’t give up!
This song is a plea to anyone who is struggling with such a decision to wait, things often look better in the light of a new day.
“Don’t despair, your life is worth living
Wait and see what the morning brings…”
